The post mortem.

Some reasons for our defeat.
April brought some black and white cookies. Black and white?
Fulham play in black and white, as do West Brom (well, dark blue) who managed to stay up. It was a delightful gesture, just not thought through.
Where the hell was Mr Paquette?
The wierd hippy lady in the corner of the bar who told us off for smoking near James's dog.
It also appears that we were crap.

i can't win with you can i? your attitutde and mental state would have fit right in in Red Sox Nation for sure. i was unfortunately set about on errands by the lovely Mrs. P. when i did manage to check in on the (tape delayed) broadcast, it was already 3-0 so i got online to check the final and saw the carnage. they did a great job recapping the 4 relegation-related battles on the EPL Review Show last night, though. it was a riveting 25 minutes. and that late goal by Charlton! i have to say that other than Norwich, WBA was the team i most wanted to stay up. that's little consolation to you of course.

Bloody right you can't win!
Nah, I don't hold it against you, I was just shooting off a random blame thing. It's the black and white cookies that hurt the most.
There's a slim chance that I'll be in town for the USA v England game.

This, this I love, more than anyonw but Mondale could ever know. From the BBC fans debate over Glazer and Man U:
"In the good old days, a true Labour government wouldn't have allowed this to happen. They'd have nationalised Man U.
Reg in Frankston, Australia"

That's Bollocks!
In the 'good old days' (rationing and cloth caps) the capitalist bastards that ran United (Louis Edwards was the type of businessman who made Joe kennedy look like Ralph Nader) were most likely to have plotted the assasination of Atlee, Wilson etc.

Perhaps if the correspondent had written "if Man U were Cuban, Castro would have taken them under state ownership following the revolution in order to remove the influence of American big business from internal politics" you would have grasped the larger point.

Sometimes your are disturbingly literal in your interpretations. Are you sure you don't have Aspergers? Maybe you are just following the teachings of Papa Ratzi and are eschewing relativism.

How was fishing?

Was he takin tha piss?
fishing was OK, didn't actually fish but was fun to be on a boat on the water (not a boat in a shed)

I don't think any statement that posits nationalizing a football club can be considered fully serious, can it?

true, reminds me a little of when geoffery Watling led a county wide whip round to rescue City.
