The Dutch- so mellow and rational off the pitch- always seem to provoke at least one ill-tempered 90 minute brawl each tournament. I'm on the opposite side of those who are complaining about the refs this time; capricious officiating (unless its during an England game) makes things more fun. I got to the point yesterday when I was giggling gleefully at every over-acted recoil from a "headbutt" or when the Russki fished around in his pocket for a card.
As a mild mannered elementary school teacher I should not really admit to enjoying the biggest Dutch-Portugese punch up since the Seven Years War. But I fuckin loved it!!!

I assume you're excited because Portugal will barely be able to field a team next match?
That game just got more and more absurd as the second half wore on. The ref. seemed to lose all control and was issuing cards as if he were Briar.
