How are you coping?

It's a mad world isn't it?
Do you have any tips?

I go sailing.

It's free, I don't spend money while I'm doing it, I forget about the economy, and when I come back from my sail the market has usually gone down 400 points without any help from me.

I find it hard to talk about such things without coming across as rather smug. Then again, that's pretty much the story of my life.
Here goes, we downsized significantly in August 2007 (just as the first murmurs of things called 'sub prime' began to rumble)
Part of our move was a sizable chop in income (FRD went from VP of her own company to stay at home mum/mom) but also an approach to life that tried as often as possible to smell some roses and take opportunities when they arose.

The two things that have probably helped most ?

We run, I run alone, FRD with some friends it's great for body and soul and essentially free.
We cook in, easier in Norfolk than NYC but a healthy moneysaver.

Above all, it's fun.

I like the way that your comment is longer than your original post.

It's helping me to cope.
